Panagbenga Grand Float Parade 2025

On February 23, 2025, the University of the Cordilleras proudly joined the vibrant celebration of the Panagbenga Grand Float Parade 2025, showcasing the university’s rich artistic spirit and commitment to cultural heritage. Led by the dynamic talents of the Saeng ya Kasay, UC Dance Company, UC Dance Squad, and the UC Percussion and Orchestra, the performance highlighted the fusion of Cordilleran pride, modern energy, and musical brilliance. Adding a touch of fun and community spirit was UC’s beloved mascot, Benjie, who charmed the crowd with every wave and dance move.

Set against the blooming backdrop of Baguio City’s most anticipated festival, the UC contingent brought to life the essence of Panagbenga celebration, unity, and creativity. Through their synchronised choreography, pulsating rhythms, and vibrant costumes, the university group left a lasting impression on thousands of spectators lining the parade route.

Under the guidance of the Center for Creative Productions (CCP), the parade participation reflected UC’s commitment to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 11.2.5, which emphasises the promotion of arts and cultural identity. It also touched on SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by highlighting how academic institutions can collaborate to preserve and innovate cultural expression.

Through every step, beat, and flourish, the UC performers carried the message of cultural pride and youthful excellence. The presence of Benjie the Mascot added a sense of community warmth, drawing cheers from children and families and reinforcing UC’s close ties to the people of Baguio.

The University of the Cordilleras’ participation in the Panagbenga Float Parade 2025 wasn’t just a show of talent; it was a powerful reminder of the university’s ongoing mission to nurture creativity, promote cultural appreciation, and foster unity through the arts.

With each note struck, every dancer’s movement, and every joyful appearance from Benjie, UC once again proved what it means to embody Tatak UC, where tradition meets innovation, and creativity meets purpose.
