The University of the Cordilleras transformed into a vibrant and festive hub on December 2, 2024, as the Center for Creative Productions (CCP) hosted Paskuhan sa UC 2024—a joyous Christmas celebration that united the university community in a spectacular showcase of talent, culture, and holiday cheer.
The evening opened with a dynamic performance by the Featured Artists, who set an uplifting tone with their renditions of “That’s Christmas to Me” and “Last Christmas.” The celebration continued with captivating performances from talented students, including Eliza Jean D. Cuttermas of the College of Nursing, who energized the audience with “Underneath the Tree,” and Fritz Gerald A. Segundo of the College of Engineering and Architecture, who delivered a heartfelt rendition of the OPM classic “Sana Ngayong Pasko.”
The Saeng ya Kasay Cultural Ensemble enriched the program with a stirring performance of the Christmas Chants of the Cordilleras, honoring indigenous traditions. Meanwhile, the UC Chorale captivated the crowd with powerful renditions of “Pasko na Naman,” “Gumising,” and “Joy to the World.” The Percussion and Orchestra added to the excitement with vibrant pieces like “Sleigh Ride,” “Pasko na Naman March,” and “Carol Pieces,” capped by a thrilling drumline display.
As the night drew to a close, The Dance Company and Dance Squad energized the crowd with a high-impact countdown performance alongside the university’s beloved mascot, Benjie. The celebration ended on a heartfelt note with the CCP’s moving performance of “Puso ng Paskuhan,” leaving the audience inspired and uplifted.
This university event aligns strongly with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, integrating arts, culture, and creative expression into education to foster holistic growth and lifelong learning. It also supports SDG 17 by highlighting the power of collaboration across departments and disciplines in achieving shared goals through unity and creativity.
Additionally, the event reflected the CCP’s commitment to its Key Result Areas, particularly KRA 1 G3, which emphasizes timely and impactful performances that inspire the community and showcase student talent. It also advanced KRA 2 G1 by promoting collaborative innovation in the performing arts, providing a platform for the exchange of fresh ideas and creative strategies.
Paskuhan sa UC 2024 was a resounding success—celebrating not only the holiday season but also the strength, unity, and artistic spirit of the University of the Cordilleras community.
