UC-CCP and Clique Dance Studio Unite to Strengthen Baguio City’s Hip-Hop Dance Community

On October 10, 2026, the University of the Cordilleras – Center for Creative Productions (UC-CCP), in partnership with Clique Dance Studio, hosted U-Night at the UC Theater. The event brought together dance groups from various universities and local dance communities, providing a platform for dancers to showcase their talents, express their creativity, and connect with fellow artists who share a passion for hip-hop dance.

The collaboration aimed to strengthen Baguio City’s hip-hop dance community by fostering connections, encouraging artistic exchange, and creating opportunities for collaboration among dancers and dance organizations. By bringing together different groups in one venue, U-Night contributed to building a more connected and supportive local dance scene.

The University of the Cordilleras also took part in the event through the participation of its UC Dance Company, which joined fellow university-based and local dance groups in celebrating hip-hop culture. The group’s involvement reflected UC-CCP’s commitment to providing opportunities for its student-artists to participate in dance events, engage with the broader dance community, and continue developing their skills and artistic expression.

Through initiatives such as U-Night, UC-CCP continues to support the performing arts by opening its venue to collaborative activities and encouraging its performing groups to engage with external organizations. These efforts help strengthen partnerships, expand artistic opportunities, and promote the University’s active involvement in Baguio City’s creative community.

Advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
U-Night 2026 supports SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through the collaboration between UC-CCP and Clique Dance Studio in bringing together dance groups from universities and local communities. It also contributes to SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities by providing a space for artistic expression and supporting the continued growth of Baguio City’s dance community. Furthermore, the event supports SDG 4: Quality Education by offering opportunities for participating dancers to exchange experiences, learn from fellow artists, and develop their creative skills through engagement in the performing arts.

Supporting UC-CCP’s Key Result Area
The initiative supports UC-CCP’s Key Result Area 5, Goal 1 (KRA 5, G1), which focuses on establishing strategic collaborations annually with professional organizations to broaden the Center’s opportunities and visibility. The partnership with Clique Dance Studio demonstrates UC-CCP’s efforts to build external relationships, provide opportunities for its performing groups, and strengthen the University’s presence in the local performing arts community.
Through U-Night 2026, UC-CCP reaffirms its commitment to fostering meaningful partnerships, supporting student-artists, and contributing to the growth of Baguio City’s hip-hop dance community. By serving as the event’s host venue and facilitating the participation of the UC Dance Company, the University continues to create opportunities for artistic engagement and collaboration within and beyond its campus.
